Congratulations to Lewis!

Our head coach Lewis has been heavily involved in the GBR pathway approach and has been made one of the four GBR Talent Coaches to help British Fencing with its international fencers.

Lewis has been instrumental in the development and success of fencers at both WFC and the other clubs he runs and trains at, so I'm sure this will be a hugely positive step for the sport.

He is organising Pathway Training Camps, for those looking for fencing experience this summer, check the details here.

The First WFC Awards!

Although it was quieter (and hotter) we took the chance to hand out a few awards to recognise those in the club who have done a great job embodying the values that we'd like to see. That included 'rising blade' for Ava, 'technical excellence' for Sam, 'Club rock' for Lucas for years of loyal realiability, 'On target' for our junior fencer William, 'Competition success' for Vincent, 'Strategic Thinker' for Harrison and 'Club Helper' for Jo and her endless support. Alex T received 'Kinetic Enthusiasm' featuring one of the epee tips he broke over the year!

It was a nice chance to thank all club members for their support and attendance over the last year, and a fond 'au revoir' to those who will be moving along to college and University, and the next exciting chapter of their lives.
